Matt Flynn enjoys bloody Mary after being released by Jets

NFL teams had until 4 p.m. EST on Saturday to trim their rosters down to 53 players. Among those to be released was veteran quarterback Matt Flynn by the Jets.

Flynn and Josh Johnson were cut on Saturday, leaving Ryan Fitzpatrick, Geno Smith, and Bryce Petty as the team’s quarterbacks to start the season. After being made aware of the team’s decision, Flynn took to his Twitter account to thank the organization for giving him an opportunity.

Thanks for the opportunity #nyjets, but it looks like I am headed back home to Louisiana.. Looking forward to what's next!
