In a somewhat surprising move, LSU offensive tackle La'el Collins has signed a free agent contract with the Dallas Cowboys. Collins went undrafted after news broke that Louisiana police wanted to question him concerning the murder of his ex-girlfriend Brittany Mills. Collins has since spoken to police, and though the investigation remains ongoing, he has not been named as a suspect. Paternity tests have shown that Collins was not the father of Mills' unborn child, who was sadly also killed.
Since he was undrafted, Collins was free to sign with any team he chose, but the CBA put some limits on what teams could pay him as a rookie.
