If NFL teams are going to wait on LSU tackle La’El Collins to meet with the police to feel comfortable with adding him to their roster, they’re going to have to wait to sign him as a free agent after the draft.
Albert Breer of NFL Media reports that Baton Rouge Police Department Colonel Don Coppola told him that a police interview with Collins regarding the murder of his pregnant ex-girlfriend Brittany Mills will be scheduled for sometime after the draft.
Breer also reports that he’s spoken to representatives of several teams who said they won’t touch Collins in the draft as a result of the uncertainty about his involvement in the case.
