Joey Iosefa Released by Patriots: Latest Comments and Reaction

Rookie running back Joey Iosefa, who had an impressive showing two weeks ago, was released by the New England Patriots on Monday, the team announced.

Iosefa put together a very solid outing against the Tennessee Titans in Week 15, carrying the ball 14 times for 51 yards. One of those carries was a 15-yard run in which he ran over Titans cornerback Coty Sensabaugh.

The seventh-round pick out of Hawaii played 20 snaps in Sunday's loss to the New York Jets and only carried the ball one time, which resulted in no gain.

Iosefa's release is more likely due to the Patriots signing veteran running back Steven Jackson as well as the consistent production they've gotten from tailbacks James White and Brandon Bolden.
