Jameel McClain’s history of neck problems made it worth concern when he left the practice field yesterday with what was described as a stinger.
Those concerns were validated today.
According to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News, Giants coach Tom Coughlin said McClain would be out “a while” after yesterday’s injury.
There was concern about McClain’s future in the game when he suffered a spinal contusion during his time with the Ravens. But he came back and played every game for the Giants last year, and was a vital piece of their defense, as a starter outside and cover for the oft-injured middle linebacker Jon Beason.
