Jalen Hurts Has 'Nothing to Prove' to Be Seen as Eagles' Long-Term QB, per Jeff Lurie

It seems as if Jalen Hurts will be under center for the Philadelphia Eagles for years to come.

Eagles CEO Jeffrey Lurie said the quarterback has "nothing to prove" and is already seen by the team as the long-term answer at the position, via Sal Paolantonio of ESPN (h/t Tim McManus). Lurie also said, "he's just what we're looking for," when asked if there will be contract negotiations down the line.

Hurts is under contract through the 2023 campaign.

While it was fair to wonder if Hurts was the franchise quarterback during his first two seasons when he went 9-12 as a starter and struggled at times to establish consistency, he was 14-1 this season while completing 66.
