Jaguars president apologizes to city official for anthem kneeling in London

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jacksonville Jaguars president Mark Lamping has apologized to the city of Jacksonville's director of military affairs chief for several players' decision to kneel during the national anthem prior to their Sept. 24 game against Baltimore in London.

In a letter dated Oct. 6 and sent to Bill Spann, the city's director of military affairs and veterans department, Lamping said the organization did not fully consider the furor that would result from those actions, especially after the entire team stood for God Save the Queen.

Spann forwarded the letter to Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry on Monday afternoon.
