The San Diego Chargers released wide receiver Jacoby Jones on Tuesday, according to Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Jones, who signed a two-year, $5.5 million deal in March, per Gehlken, was brought in for his special teams prowess in San Diego. Unfortunately for him, though, he had little success. Appearing in just five games this season, Jones had five punt returns for minus-four yards.
The Chargers as a team have just one punt-return yard this whole season and are on pace to set the NFL record for fewest return yards.
