Could the retirement of one of Detroit’s all-time greats be the reason that the Lions are back on track?
Heading into the 2016 season, expectations were not high for the Detroit Lions. Coming off a mediocre 7-9 year in 2015, the Lions’ turmoil was only increased with the abrupt retirement of wide receiver Calvin Johnson. For years, Johnson, aka “Megatron”, was the best player on the Detroit Lions, and despite only a nine-year career, holds every career receiving record in franchise history, including receiving yards, touchdowns, and receptions.
