EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul, who lost his right index finger in a Fourth of July fireworks accident, did not report for the first day of Giants training camp Thursday, and the team co-owner John Mara said the Giants had no information on the condition of their best defensive player.
“I don’t know how many fingers he has,” Mara said, addressing reporters as the Giants welcomed players for the start of the preseason. “We have no idea what type of condition he is in and that gives us no comfort. We don’t know any more than you know.
