EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Heading into Sunday’s game with Philadelphia, the Giants had lost their last four meetings against the Eagles and five of the last six games between the teams.
While it took a tense defensive stand in the final minutes, the Giants held on to defeat the Eagles, 28-23, at MetLife Stadium. It was the Giants’ third successive victory and improved their record to 5-3.
Philadelphia took over at the Giants’ 34-yard line with 1:48 remaining in the fourth quarter. Philadelphia quarterback Carson Wentz quickly completed a 17-yard pass to Nelson Agholor, but the Eagles could not advance on four subsequent pass plays — with the Giants blitzing on every play.
