Ezekiel Elliott Likely to Serve Suspension After Ruling

After a long hearing and a lengthy wait for a ruling, Ezekiel Elliott’s temporary restraining order was dissolved and his injunction denied by a federal judge, meaning his six-game game suspension will most likely be enforced.

The suspension saga for Elliott, the Dallas Cowboys’ star running back, has been a roller coaster since the summer, with both the N.F.L. and the players’ union declaring victory on more than one occasion. But Judge Katherine Polk Failla of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York ruled that the public interest weighed in favor of denying injunctive relief.
