Darrelle Revis Reportedly Released by Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs reportedly cut cornerback Darrelle Revis on Thursday, according to ESPN's Field Yates.

The Chiefs initially signed Revis to a two-year, $11 million contract on Nov. 22.

By releasing him now, the club will avoid a serious financial hit. According to The MMQB's Albert Breer, Revis would have been owed $10 million guaranteed next season had he been on the roster through March 18.

Revis recorded two pass breakups and zero interceptions in five regular-season games for the Chiefs.

Sadly, his short tenure in Kansas City will likely be remembered most for a play he didn't make in the fourth quarter of the Chiefs' wild-card round playoff loss to the Tennessee Titans when he shied away from tackling Derrick Henry on what proved to be a game-sealing first down run.
