Late last month, there were reports that longtime Patriots guard Dan Connolly was considering retirement.
Connolly has made up his mind and decided to call it a career. Connolly told Mike Reiss of ESPN.com that winning the Super Bowl in February made it easier to move on to other things that will be less physically taxing than playing on the offensive line in the NFL.
“It’s important to me to leave the game healthy,” Connolly said. “I’m able to be here for my kids and walk away on my own terms.
