Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant has hairline fracture in right knee

The Cowboys' offense has weathered the loss of Tony Romo with sensational play from rookie fourth-rounder Dak Prescott, but they'll face another potential obstacle after Dez Bryant suffered a hairline fracture in his right knee Sunday, Jason Garrett confirmed Wednesday.

Bryant sustained the injury in the first quarter Sunday night versus the Bears and returned to action to catch his first touchdown later in the game. But after undergoing an MRI and sitting out practice Wednesday, Bryant's injury was made official.

Garrett called Bryant "day-by-day, week-by-week," expressing hope his star receiver can play Sunday in San Francisco.
