Whether Tony Romo regains the starting role from rookie Dak Prescott remains to be seen, but his chances of being cleared are increasing.
Per ESPN's Ed Werder, Romo's availability has progressed from being a medical decision to now a coaching staff decision. Romo has been limited in practice for the past few weeks, but the Cowboys haven't needed to rush him back due to the success of Prescott and the 7-1 team, which leads the NFC.
Hinging on whether Romo will possibly return this week – or at least be active – on Sunday in Pittburgh will be how Romo responds to the increased workload in practice.
