Cris Carter apologizes after ‘fall guy’ video surfaces

Cris Carter apologized on Sunday for some controversial advice he gave to incoming NFL rookies over a year ago.

Last week, a feature story on former San Francisco 49ers linebacker Chris Borland revealed that a prominent former player advised players at the 2014 Rookie Symposium to have a “fall guy” in their crew who is willing to go to jail if something goes wrong. It was quickly determined that the player was Carter, as you can see from the video above.

“In case ya’ll are not going to decide to do the right thing, if ya’ll got a crew, you’ve got to have a fall guy in the crew,” Carter said.
