Cowboys Playing Dangerous Game by Not Locking Up Dak Prescott Long-Term

"Deadlines make deals."

It's a saying that has long been attributed to Dallas Cowboys grand pooh bah Jerry Jones, who has been no stranger over the years to handing out huge contracts. However, the July 15 deadline to sign franchise-tagged players to a long-term deal has arrived, and right now it appears that what would be the extension to end all extensions in Big D isn't going to happen.

Dak Prescott isn't getting re-upped long-term. Not in 2020. And in digging in their heels and failing to get a deal done with their franchise signal-caller, the Cowboys are playing a dangerous game with the future of the organization.
