When the Texans were looking for a veteran running back, it appears the talks with Pierre Thomas broke down over his unwillingness to play for the minimum.
Chris Johnson apparently had no such qualms about joining the Cardinals, though they’re giving him a chance to add to his take.
According to Ed Werder of ESPN, the deal Johnson agreed to in Arizona includes no signing bonus, and the veteran minimum salary of $870,000.
He could make up to $2 million this year total, but that would require him making the Pro Bowl and rushing for 1,300 yards.
