The Bears released veteran cornerback Tracy Porter Monday, one month after signing cornerbacks Prince Amukamara and Marcus Cooper, and 13 months after signing Porter to a three-year extension.
Porter, who turns 31 in August, played in 30 games the past two seasons with the Bears, often playing through injuries. In 2015 he was the most productive player on defense with 12 passes defensed and a crucial interception against the Packers on Thanksgiving.
Last season, Porter played in every game and had 48 tackles, nine passes defensed and two interceptions. He was instrumental in helping a young cornerbacks group.
