Chicago Bears face Lions on short rest in battle of attrition

Both teams are coming off Sunday games, but the 4-6 Lions played at noon, while the 7-3 Bears kicked off about 7 ½ hours later, making their turnaround time even shorter in this Thanksgiving Day rematch 11 days after the Bears’ 34-22 victory.

That first game wasn’t as close as the score would indicate, since the Bears led 34-10 in the fourth quarter. Since then, the Bears have established themselves as the favorite in the NFC North with a 25-20 conquest of the Vikings. But the Lions showed they’re still more than competitive by upsetting the Panthers 20-19 to snap a three-game slump with each of the losses by double digits.
