Former NFL offensive lineman Chad Wheeler has been sentenced to 81 months in prison in connection to beating his ex-girlfriend in 2021, according to TMZ Sports.
Wheeler was found guilty of first- and second-degree assault in November after being accused of strangling his ex-girlfriend to the point of unconsciousness during a January 2021 altercation at an apartment in Washington.
The victim said the incident started after she refused Wheeler's orders to bow down to him. He then allegedly threw her on a bed and choked her until she was unconscious.
When the victim called 911, she told the operator she thought Wheeler was going to kill her.
