Bruce Allen: Name change won’t be considered to get new stadium

When it comes to the name of the Washington NFL franchise, the battle lines have been set in cement. Some think the name is offensive to Native Americans and should change; others think that not enough Native Americans are offended by it and even if they are they shouldn’t be.

Recently, a theory has emerged that the name could become leverage in the franchise’s quest for a new stadium, giving it up in exchange for taxpayer money and/or a prime location in D.C., where the old RFK Stadium vibe could be recreated. On Monday, team president Bruce Allen disputed the notion that a name change would be part of a stadium change.
