A day after getting into an argument with Ryan Fitzpatrick on the sideline, New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall declined to call for backup Bryce Petty to replace the embattled quarterback.
"It's easy to throw darts at the quarterback in this situation...but all of us need to play better," Marshall told reporters on a conference call Monday.
Marshall made six receptions for 45 yards in Sunday's loss to the Miami Dolphins, which snapped a two-game winning streak. Fitzpatrick was once again erratic throughout, throwing two interceptions and fumbling twice (both recovered by the Jets) before Petty replaced him late.
