Bills GM Doug Whaley Reportedly 'Went Rogue' in Cutting Fred Jackson

The Buffalo Bills' decision to release veteran running back Fred Jackson in the first round of roster cuts was reportedly carried out through general manager Doug Whaley's autonomous authority.

Tim Graham of the Buffalo News reported Tuesday that Whaley "went rogue" in cutting Jackson but hinted that the organization would project a united front in public.

Whaley had nothing but kind things to say about Jackson when the 34-year-old was let go Monday, per Chris Brown of the Bills' official website:

Today, we had to make the difficult decision to release Fred Jackson.
