If we are to believe Washington team president Bruce Allen’s intangible claim that his club is “winning off the field,” then we can substantiate that fewer and fewer people are watching them do it.
According to Liz Clarke of the Washington Post, attendance at training camp in Richmond is down 44 percent from last year, with only 6,222 fans watching practice this year, down from 11,183 in 2014.
“If you look at what we’re doing here, the fans that come do enjoy it,” Allen said. “They even got to see a fight this year, which was something new here at Bon Secours’ facility.
