Elite kickers may deserve to be paid a lot more than you think.
Week 1 of the 2016 NFL season had everything fans could have asked for. Season-ending injuries, unpredictable upsets and mind-blowing plays were aplenty, especially at the end of games. However, one aspect of the week’s results stood out among the rest. Six games were decided by two points or less, putting teams in position to execute a play fans hate to love: the last-second field goal.
Of those six games, one was won with a field goal in the final minute and three were lost with last-second misses.
