NFL rumors around Jadeveon Clowney won’t stop until he finds a new team. Where will Clowney play in 2020? Rumor has it that the Jets are adding their name to the list of teams considering Clowney. There are reports that the Giants, Titans and Seahawks are also interested in the free agent DE, however, are wary due to medical concerns. The ‘Big C’ has limited teams from performing physicals and with Clowney looking to make between $17-18 million, teams are being cautious of signing him before he’s checked out medically. In other NFL Free Agency news, Jameis Winston is also still on the market and NFL execs believe that Pittsburgh is the best fit for the Buccaneers former QB. Big Ben is expected to return in 2020,however, it’s clear from his absence last season that the Steelers need a more reliable back up than Mason Rudolph and Devlin Hodges. Winston, despite setting an NFL record for his 30 interceptions last season, would be an upgrade. The question is, can the Steelers afford to pay Jameis what he wants?
Speaking of getting paid, Sammy Watkins re-signed a new deal with the Kansas City Chiefs that freed up $5 million in cap space for 2020. Watkins was one of the top cut candidates for the Chiefs due to his massive cap hit of $21 million for next season. Thanks to his restructured deal, Watkins will stay in Kansas City next season for just $7 million but can earn up to $16 million based on performance and incentives.
