NFL news and rumors are heating up as we approach NFL training camp and NFL Daily host Thomas Mott is here to talk all things contracts, injuries, reinstatement and unretirement. While players like Cowboys’ RB Ezekiel Elliott and Chargers’ RB Melvin Gordon are rumored to be holding out in the hopes of signing new contracts, Texans OLB Jadeveon Clowney will play next season under the franchise tag. Clowney is set to make around $16 MM in the 2019 NFL season, that is, if he isn’t traded before then.
Rob Gronkowski on the other hand might be looking to make a comeback. A source close to Gronk said there is a 40% chance the former Patriots tight end comes out of retirement to play in the 2019 NFL season. Gronk isn’t the only person rumored to be making a return to the NFL. Martavis Bryant applied for reinstatement into the league after his 3 violations of the substance abuse policy landed him an indefinite suspension.

Peyton Manning joining the Monday Night Football crew? Not anytime soon. Yahoo Sports reported that Manning was approached about a job as a color analyst and turned down the job because of his brother, Giants QB Eli Manning. The New York Giants are scheduled twice for MNF and according to reports, Peyton didn’t want to be “conflicted about his analysis.”
