NFL Final: Everything You Need To Know From Week 5's Action

Week 5 of the NFL season is nearly in the books and that means we have PLENTY to cover from one of the most fun and revealing Sundays we're going to have all season long. Check out our NFL Final below for the five biggest on-field stories from the day that was.

The New England Patriots Are Trending Way Up...

...while the Dallas Cowboys are trending way down. We all had this game circled before the season as a potential regular season classic, but injuries to Tony Romo & Dez Bryant have turned this Dallas team into a shell of the 2014 NFL East champs. New England's 30-6 win in JerryWorld put another feather in the caps of the defending NFL champion Patriots who put on a near perfect show while showing just how out of sync the Dallas offense is with Brandon Weeden at the helm.

Josh McCown, Take A Bow

Cleveland's starting QB threw for a team-record 457 yards to lead the Browns to a season-altering 33-30 victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. The Browns had lost 13 of their last 14 against their division rivals, but put the past behind them with a 12-point comeback in this one. Cleveland moves to the outer fringes of the early playoff picture at 2-3 while Baltimore sits in the cellar of the AFC North at 1-4.

What An Ending

The Washington Redskins defense did a fine job of holding down the high-wire act of the Atlanta Falcons, but it was the Falcons defense that had the last laugh in Sunday's contest in the ATL. Cornerback Robert Alford 59-yard pick six in overtime cinched a 25-19 walk-off win for Atlanta, improving the Falcons' record to a perfect 5-0 in the process. With the victory, the Falcons complete a sweep of the NFC East and move 1/2 game up over the idle (and undefeated) Carolina Panthers in the NFC South.

Andy Dalton, Superstar

The early frontrunner for the NFL MVP Award led Cincinnati from a 17-point deficit to a shocking 27-24 OT victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. Mike Nugent's 42-yard field goal in overtime bounced off the left upright and in, finishing off the second biggest comeback in franchise history (17 points) and giving the Bengals a hang-your-hat win over the two-time defending NFC champs. Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady may have the gaudier stats, but no one has been more valuable to his team than the Bengals QB.

Denver Keeps Surviving

The Broncos once again had no running game to speak of in Sunday's 16-10 slog of a victory in Oakland, and they didn't even get much from Peyton Manning who threw two un-Peyton-like picks to the ageless Charles Woodson. However, once again it was Denver's defense that saved the day -- constantly pressuring Raiders QB Derek Carr and forcing him to either take safe throws or risk making mistakes under duress. One of those mistakes, a pick-six taken back 74 yards by Chris Harris Jr., sealed the deal for Denver and put an ugly offensive day in the rear view mirror.
