We are almost two weeks into the new year and there are still four NFL teams without a head coach. The Colts, Giants, Lions, and Cardinals are still searching, but one team has a candidate emerging as the favorite. The NFL coaching rumors are coming in hot right now, one team possibly found their next head coach, another nearing a deal, and one still in the interview process. Here are the latest NFL coaching rumors and news you need to know:
McDaniels To The Colts
It's not official yet, but it appears likely that Josh McDaniels will be the next Indianapolis Colts head coach. Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports that McDaniels has told potential assistants to wait for him, because he'll likely take the Colts job. McDaniels would be a huge hire for the Colts and QB Andrew Luck. On a related note, Pro Football Talk reports McDaniels is interested in the Colts job because of the presence of Luck. If the Colts miss on McDaniels, Mike Vrabel is the next top candidate.

Todd Haley's Future In Doubt
The Steelers are in the middle of the playoffs, but that hasn't stopped some of the drama around their coaching staff. In fact, OC Todd Haley might be out at the end of the season, Rapoport writes. Haley's contract is up at the end of the year and Haley and QB Ben Roethlisberger are not getting along. The relationship between the two is fractured (at best) and it's forced QB coach Randy Fichtner to come from the booth to the field to act as a go-between for Haley and Roethlisberger. That's not a promising sign for Haley and with his contract up, there might be a parting of ways at the end of the year.
Patricia And The Lions
The Detroit Lions are expected to hire New England Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia as their next head coach, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The move can't be made official until the Patriots are out of the playoffs. But, it appears Patricia will get the Lions' job and Detroit will land their top target.
