The Latest NFL Rumors And News On Jason Campbell, Marshawn Lynch And More

The NFL rumor mill isn't quite as active as it was earlier this year, as the draft is over and there are only a few notable free agents left. However, there are still plenty of rumors and news buzzing around the league. We have the latest and greatest of the rumors below.

Marshawn Lynch Still Hasn't Filed For Retirement
The Seattle Seahawks put RB Marshawn Lynch on the reserve/retired list, but the running back has yet to officially file for retirement, reports Pro Football Talk. Lynch has yet to say anything indicating he isn't retired, but the lack of the official filing leaves open the possibility he could return to Seattle or another team, as Pro Football Talk points out

Dwight Freeney Really Wants To Play Another Year
The 36-year old pass rusher led the Cardinals in sacks last season, but has yet to find a new home. He wants to stay in Arizona next year, but is open to playing anywhere.

"But if it doesn’t work out here, it could be anywhere," Freeney said on ESPN. "It just depends. It has to be a winning team. I’m used to winning."

Freeney said he's had some interest this offseason, but noting is close.

Michael Bennett Not Happy With His Contract?
The Seahawks gave DL Michael Bennett a four-year, $32 million deal before the 2014 season. However, Bennett doesn't appear happy with his contract.

"I don’t get the impression he’s fine with his contract,’‘ GM John Schneider told Pro Football Talk. "But I think he recognizes it’s a team sport, and I’m sure he sees a couple of his teammates who have one year left on their contracts. He has two left on his. We have a couple guys that are going to be unrestricted free agents at the end of the season that we’d like to try to take care of as well."

It doesn't sound like Bennett will have Kam Chancellor-esq holdout. However, it does seem like he really wants a new contract.

Jason Campbell Not Returning?
On Wednesday, Jason Campbell appeared to send out a tweet saying he wanted to return to the NFL. It was picked up Pro Football Talk and NFL.com, but it turns out everyone was fooled. That tweet and account no longer exist, as it was a fake.

As it turns out, the veteran QB doesn't plan on returning to the NFL. At least not yet.
