The NFL has ruled that Cincinnati Bengals backup quarterback A.J. McCarron is a free agent, which allows him to test the open market and move on from a Cincinnati franchise that he has played for his entire four year NFL career. McCarron now joins a pool of free agent quarterbacks including Kirk Cousins, Sam Bradford, and Case Keenum. Several NFL teams will be searching for a starting-caliber quarterback this off-season, and McCarron could draw interest from the Arizona Cardinals, New York Jets, and Denver Broncos and several other teams. McCarron has appeared in 11 regular season NFL games including three starts where he led the Bengals to a 2-1 record. McCarron also has a playoff start under his belt having played the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2015 postseason. In his 11 regular season games, 11 regular-season games, McCarron has thrown for 920 yards with six touchdowns, two interceptions and completing 64.7 percent of his passes.
