Bold Predictions Week 2 Around the NFL

These are Bold Predictions. There is a big difference between "Hot Takes" and Bold Predictions. Hot Takes are just guesses and Bold Predictions are educated guesses. I will give a Bold Prediction for each team entering their weekly matchups in Week 2.

Houston Texans vs. Cincinnati Bengals
Thursday 8:25 PM ET

Texans - Lamar Miller totals over 100 yards and scores two touchdowns. The Texans offense once Watson took over looked SOOOOO much better. In the 2nd half, Miller had 11 carries for 50 yards and one catch for 26 yards. The Texans have no tight ends which should mean more dump offs for Miller. Also, games on Thursday are more focused on the run since it's a short week.

Bengals - The Bengals offense fails to gain 200 total yards. The Bengals had 221 yards in a horrible Week 1 loss to the Ravens. Andy Dalton is bad in night games and in his career against the Texans he averages 211 passing yards. The Bengals offensive line is an eye sore and on a short week, the Bengals offense will struggle.

Cleveland Browns vs. Baltimore Ravens
Sunday 1:00 PM ET

Browns - Duke Johnson leads the Browns in receptions and receiving yards in Week 2. The Browns coaching staff called Johnson "A Queen Chess Piece," this offseason and I was surprised he wasn't used more. Crowell didn't look good against the Steelers averaging only 1.9 YPC (yards per carry). I expect the Ravens to be winning most of this game which means more usage for Johnson.

Ravens - Joe Flacco throws for 300 yards and three touchdowns. Flacco threw the ball only 17 times in the Ravens Week 1 win against the Bengals. Last season Flacco threw for 296 yards and three touchdowns against the Browns at home and this season he will get the four extra yards he missed out on last season.

Buffalo Bills vs. Carolina Panthers
Sunday 1:00 PM ET

Bills - Mike Tolbert scores every rushing touchdown for the Bills in Week 2. Tolbert is the ultimate touchdown vulture. Tolbert playing his old team, I think the Bills give Tolbert a little revenge.

Panthers - Cam Newton, Jonathan Stewart, and Christian McCaffrey all score a rushing touchdown. The Bills defense against the run isn't good. Don't let the numbers from Week 1 fool you after all they did play the Jets. The Bills gave up the fourth most rushing yards and the second most rushing touchdowns (21) in 2016.

Arizona Cardinals vs. Indianapolis Colts
Sunday 1:00 PM ET

Cardinals - Carson Palmer throws for four touchdowns. The Cardinals didn't look good last week but this week they have an easy matchup against the Colts who just gave up 46 points to the Rams.

Colts - The Colts failed to score a single touchdown. The Colts didn't score any touchdowns in Week 1 and I fully expect the same thing in Week 2. The Colts are the worst team in the NFL without Andrew Luck

Tennessee Titans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Sunday 1:00 PM ET

Titans - Corey Davis finds the end zone in Week 2. Maybe not so bold but the Jaguars defense looked really tough and it will be a good matchup for Davis.

Jaguars - Blake Bortles throws for three touchdowns. The Jaguars are without Allen Robinson but I think Bortles will play well. Last season Bortles played well against the Titans last year throwing for over 325 yards in both games and throwing four touchdowns and zero interceptions.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Sunday 1:00 PM ET

Eagles - Zach Ertz will eclipse 100 yards and one touchdown. The Chiefs the last two seasons have been one the best defenses at stopping the tight end. Eric Berry is out for the season which will really hurt their ability to stop tight ends.

Chiefs - Travis Kelce gets less than three targets. Kelce is the main option in the Chiefs passing game but the Eagles are one of the best teams in the NFL at stopping tight ends. I expect the Chiefs to be winning most of this game and lean on their run game.

New England Patriots vs. New Orleans Saints
Sunday 1:00 PM ET

Patriots - Brandin Cooks has over 150 receiving yards in Week 2. Revenge game for Cooks and if there is one team that Cooks knows well it's the Saints.

Saints - Coby Fleener will have over 100 receiving yards. The Patriots last week gave up 537 total yards of offense and their linebackers looked really bad. I see the Saints uses Fleener as a mismatch in Week 2.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Sunday 1:00 PM ET

Vikings - Dalvin Cook fails to gain 50 yards from scrimmage. Cook had a great Week 1 matchup which is why he rushed for 127 yards. The Steelers are better defensively and will score point which may limit the amount of work Cook sees in Week 2.

Steelers - Bryant leads the Steelers in receiving yards for Week 2. The Vikings will try and take away Antonio Brown which will leave Bryant with more one on one opportunities. The Steelers offense looks much better at home and I think Bryant catches a few deep balls in this game.

Chicago Bears vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Sunday 1:00 PM ET

Bears -  Cohen plays more snaps than Jordan Howard. The Bears offense looked better when Cohen was in the game. I expect the Bears to be losing most of this game which means we will see more Cohen.

Buccaneers - Jameis Winston throws for three touchdowns and none go to Mike Evans. The Buccaneers have a ton of talented pass catchers. The Bears defense did a good job in holding Julio Jones in check and I think they try and take away Evans in this matchup. The Buccaneers have plenty of other options for Winston to target.

Miami Dolphins vs. Los Angeles Chargers
Sunday 4:05 PM ET

Dolphins - Jay Cutler throws three interceptions. More of a gut feeling but I think the Chargers get to Cutler and fluster him a little. Once Cutler gets flustered it will be downhill from there.

Chargers - Tyrell Williams scores a touchdown and goes over 100 yards receiving. Last season when Williams played the Dolphins he had 125 receiving yards and one touchdown. He matches up well with the Dolphins cornerbacks.

New York Jets vs. Oakland Raiders
Sunday 4:05 PM ET

Jets - Bilal Powell leads the Jets in receptions in Week 2. Powell is the Jets best offensive player and he was barely used last week against the Bills. The Jets offense is ugly, to say the least, but the Raiders will get pressure on McCown which should lead to dump off passes to Powell.

Raiders -  Marshawn Lynch scores two touchdowns. First game in Oakland against the Jets means a lot of touchdown upside for Lynch in Week 2.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Denver Broncos
Sunday 4:25 PM ET

Cowboys - Dez Bryant doesn't record more than two catches and Cowboys win. The Broncos physical cornerbacks match up well with Bryant. This prediction does, however, make me a little nervous considering the last time Bryant played the Broncos in 2013 he had six catches for 141 yards and two touchdowns.

Broncos - Trevor Siemian throws three interceptions. In 15 career starts Siemian has never thrown more than two interceptions in a game. I think the Cowboys score early and force Denver to throw the ball more. The Cowboys pass rush looked great last week against the GIants and I think will fluster the young quarterback into making some bad decisions with the football.

Washington Redskins vs. Los Angeles Rams
Sunday 4:25 PM ET

Redskins - Kirk Cousins throws a pick six. The Redskins offense looks out of whack and the Rams defense last week looked amazing. I understand they played the Colts but the addition of defensive coordinator Wade Phillips hasn't been discussed enough.

Rams - Cooper Kupp has the most receptions in Week 2 among all NFL wide receivers. Josh Norman will cover Sammy Watkins which should lead to more targets for Kupp. Kupp will take advantage of this matchup in Week 2.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Seattle Seahawks
Sunday 4:25 PM ET

49ers - The 49ers get shutout. The Seahawks defense is for real and holding the Packers to only 17 points at home is impressive. The 49ers score only 3 points against the Panthers and I believe they get shutout in Week 2.

Seahawks - Jimmy Graham catches two touchdowns. Graham scored all of his touchdowns last season at home. The Seahawks passing game will get back on track and Graham will be a major key to that.

Green Bay Packers vs. Atlanta Falcons
Sunday 8:30 PM ET

Packers - Ty Montgomery has 10 receptions. The Falcons were the worst team in the NFL at stopping pass catching running backs last season and Tarik Cohen had eight receptions Week 1 against them. This will be a high scoring game and I expect Montgomery to be the focal point of the offense.

Falcons - Julio Jones will finish with over 200 receiving yards. Last time Jones played the Packers he had 180 receiving yards and two touchdowns. This will be a high scoring game and Jones always has monster gave after having quiet weeks.

Detroit Lions vs. New York Giants
Monday 8:30 PM ET

Lions - Eric Ebron scores a touchdown. Ebron had one two catches for nine yards last week and scored only one touchdown in 2016. The Giants aren't good against tight ends which will mean a touchdown grab is coming for Ebron.

Giants - Sterling Shepard catches two touchdowns. The Lions slot corners are really bad and get beat down the middle often. The Giants need to get the ball out of Manning hands faster which should lead to Shepard having a good game.
