All 32 Pro Football Teams Offer Chiropractic Services To Players

Football players suffer all types of musculoskeletal injuries. And, many of these injuries have to be treated with surgery, which means a longer recovery. Professional players are not keen to be kept off the field. To make matters worse, some players have prescribed prescription opioids as part of their recovery. Even though NFL players can still participate in the game while taking these drugs, sine injured players prefer the option of a drug-free recovery.

National Football League
The National Football League (NFL) is a professional organization that consists of 32 teams. Since the NFL was founded in 1920, the league’s popularity rating has grown significantly. Today, millions of people pack into the stadiums and tune into the television to watch their favorite NFL teams battle it out on the field. In 2014, the average NFL franchise was worth about $1.4 billion. And, this is not to mention the $45 billion market value of the 32 teams that make up the league.

Allegations
It has been alleged that the NFL illegally supplied injured players with prescription opioids “painkillers” to treat pain and mask injuries. In 2014, more than 600 players fought back by filing a class action lawsuit again the league. The plaintiffs accused the NFL of supplying them with considerable amounts of opioids to mask the pain associated with their injuries. Unfortunately, the case was dismissed that same year.

The allegations of a second lawsuit filed in 2015 in Baltimore were very similar to that of the 2014 lawsuit. This time, the plaintiffs alleged that the league pressured them into taking opioids so they could continue playing. They also alleged the NFL used pressure to get them to take the opioids.

Chiropractic Medicine
Former NFL players, Michael Strahan and Jerry Rice, shared their thoughts on the alternative therapy, chiropractic. This medicine involves a variety of therapies to treat musculoskeletal injuries. These non-invasive therapies include adjustments and rehabilitation, all of which are aimed at relieving pain, improving function and healing. Unlike conventional medicine, chiropractic does not include drug therapy.

Many athletes have relied on experienced chiropractor to help them get back on their feet. Some have gone so far as to say that without this therapy, they would not be able to live an active life.

Chiropractic medicine has many benefits. These benefits include pain relief, improved range of motion, reduced stress, improved mood and performance, more focus and better quality of life. And, since drug therapy is not involved in this form of holistic treatment, there is no risk of opioid addiction.

Chiropractors work with other health care practitioners to help their patients achieve the best outcomes.

Former Players Rave about Chiropractic
Former NFL players, Michael Strahan, Joe Montana, Steve Young and Jerry Rice, and other professional athletes have spoken out about chiropractic. NFL football players are not the only ones to speak out about this alternative medicine. Hollywood elites have also shared their opinion about alternative medicine. Many swear by it, saying it changed their life. Today, athletes around the world are taking advantage of chiropractic because it works.
