LeSean McCoy made some waves earlier this week when he claimed to be the NFL's best running back.
Adrian Peterson - the consensus choice for best NFL running back - had this to say about McCoy's claim on Fox Sports Radio:
“I definitely started laughing. It was funny because when Stephen asked him the question, you know, he kind of hesitated. If you watched it, you know he didn’t believe it when he said it. So I’ve got to tell the youngsters, ‘Next time, say it with your chest, man. Say it like you mean it!”
“He didn’t really mean it. If you watched – if you’ve seen his response – he didn’t really mean it...But, you know, I’ve got to give the young guy credit, you know. There’s nothing wrong with having confidence in yourself.”
Ouch. It'll be interesting to see if McCoy, who led the NFL in rushing yards last year, can back up his statement once the 2014 season gets going.
