Newcastle got their preparations for the new Premier League season back on track with a 3-1 win over Wolfsburg on Wednesday.
In their penultimate pre-season game goals from Aleksandar Mitrovic, Matt Ritchie and Christian Atsu ensured Rafa Benitez's side recovered from last week's defeat by Mainz.
Mitrovic, Jonjo Shelvey and Ayoze Perez all went close for the visiting side before the Serbian striker eventually broke the deadline eight minutes before the break.
On 37 minutes, Mitrovic lashed onto a cut back from Atsu to fire beyond Max Grun and give Benitez's side the lead.
