Dele Alli's career is in limbo. With just a few days left in the January transfer window the Tottenham midfielder is still in north London but finds himself on the periphery of Antonio Conte's plans.

There is plenty of interest among Premier League clubs, though. Mega-rich Newcastle were thought to be leading the race for his signature but, as Sportsmail reported on Wednesday, Brighton are also weighing up a move.

In fact, the interest from the Seagulls was the start of a clutch of top-flight teams closely following the situation in case Alli is still available heading into the final days of the window.
