When fathers and sons play professional football together

In 2013, at the age of 43, legendary Swedish striker Henrik Larsson returned to his first club, Hogaborgs, and played alongside his 15-year-old son, Jordan. Larsson senior attracted the headlines, but it was Jordan who scored.

Technically this father and son didn't play together, but it's a remarkable story, because the 17-year-old Eidur was brought on as a sub for his 34-year-old dad for Iceland against Estonia in Tallinn in 1996. The Gudjohnsens had wanted to play together, but Iceland wanted that moment to take place in their own country. Unfortunately, Eidur suffered a serious injury soon after and, by the time he was fit again, Arnor had retired.
