'Wey-aye, man!' Newcastle's Spanish coaching contingent get to grips with local lingo after reet canny start to season for the Toon

Newcastle United’s Spanish contingent have shown how they are getting to grips with the Geordie lifestyle – by learning the lingo.

Inside the coaches’ communal office at the club’s training base in Benton, a piece of paper pinned to the wall details: ‘Geordie Words Translated.’

Among the words that feature include ‘aye’, 'gadgie’ and ‘hinny’ as Newcastle ensure nothing is lost in translation amid their push for promotion to the Premier League.
