Newcastle United have launched a last-gasp bid to lure defender Nayef Aguerd from the clutches of West Ham United, according to reports.
Rennes Centre-back Aguerd is set to undergo a medical at West Ham as David Moyes looks to bolster his defensive options ahead of next season.
According to the London Evening Standard the Moroccan international has travelled to London and his transfer to the Hammers could be finalised by the end of the week.
West Ham are prepared to pay an initial fee of £20 million, with add-ons which could see the deal rise to around the £30m mark.
