West Bromwich Albion are persisting with interest in Newcastle United's unsettled midfielder Isaac Hayden.
Manager Rafa Benitez is reluctant to lose the former Arsenal player unless he can secure a replacement.
Newcastle have made an offer for Miguel Almiron from Atlanta United but are still short of the MLS club's asking price of £25million.
Aston Villa have also asked about Hayden who is keen to move this month.
Hayden has been at Newcastle since 2016 when the club were in the Championship.
He has made 68 appearances in two-and-a-half seasons and helped them back into the Premier League.
