Eric Dier is out of Tottenham's crucial Premier League clash with Newcastle and is now facing a race against time to be ready for their final day showdown with Brighton.
Tottenham are in danger of missing out on a top-four finish and need four points from their remaining two matches to guarantee Champions League football.
But they will have to do it without England international Dier, at least against Newcastle at Wembley on Wednesday night.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino revealed on Tuesday: "Dier is out ill. It started on Monday night when he was vomiting and had a fever.
