Mike Ashley has publicly listed Newcastle United for sale
Mike Ashley has put Newcastle United up for sale and Steve Howey wants someone to buy the Magpies who ‘gets the club and gets the area’.
Ashley, 53, bought the Tyneside outfit in 2007 for £134m, clearing existing debt upon his arrival and guaranteeing Newcastle’s immediate future at troubling financial times.
However, the St James’ Park faithful have never taken to the Buckinghamshire-born businessman, and not just due to some questionable on-pitch performances from the Magpies which have included two relegations from the Premier League.
