Steve Bruce says he is fed up with Newcastle United 'throwing in hand grenades' after admitting they were 'absolutely hopeless' at Sheffield United.

The head coach has come in for yet more criticism from supporters following the 1-0 defeat against the Blades, who won for the first time this season on Tuesday night.

The Newcastle United Supporters Trust has contacted the club to warn that they are 'sleepwalking to relegation' under Bruce, whose side are without a win in eight matches and have scored one goal in 10 hours.
