England's group match away from Wembley at the 2028 European Championship will be held at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium, Daily Mail Sport can reveal.
The Three Lions will play one of their three group stage matches on the road, and the homes of Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, Aston Villa, City or Newcastle United were in the running.
However, it is understood that the Etihad has been given the nod.
Should England then progress to the round-of-16, they would also play another match away from the national stadium in a move away from the 1966 World Cup and 1996 Euros, when all their games were in the capital.
