Rafa Benitez wants the January transfer window slashed to a 15-day period - and says he has the support of the Premier League's top bosses.
The Newcastle manager has spent the entire month trying to persuade owner Mike Ashley to invest in new players, despite handing him a list of targets on January 1. Ashley has relented and the Magpies are now negotiating with Feyenoord over a £16million deal for striker Nicolai Jorgensen.
But Benitez believes Newcastle should have been ready to act earlier and says a 31-day window is partly to blame.

'It should be 15 days for me, maximum,' he said.
