It has been 23 years since Newcastle last took to the pitch at Wembley for a major cup match.
Their FA Cup semi-final defeat by Chelsea in 2000 was their third successive appearance at the national stadium in three years following their FA Cup final outings in 1998 and 1999. All three ended in defeat.
