Newcastle's makeshift drive-through testing station at their training ground backfires as foreign players' left-hand drive cars are unable to reach nurses

Newcastle's coronavirus testing plans hit reverse yesterday — quite literally, with several of their foreign players.

Having set up a drive-through testing station in the car park of the training ground, staff realised those players in left-hand drive cars were unable to proceed as planned.

The problem was soon sorted, however, and the players reversed their vehicles into position before a nurse wearing PPE kit emerged from the medical station and performed swab tests.

Every one of Newcastle’s players and backroom team were tested ahead of a planned return to training tomorrow afternoon.
