Newcastle's £300m Saudi-led takeover faces more opposition from beIN Sports as Qatari-based broadcast giants urge Premier League to block any deal, citing the country's 'past and continuing illegal actions'

English football's biggest overseas broadcast partner beIN Sports have urged the Premier League to block Newcastle's proposed £300million takeover from the Saudi Arabian-led consortium, according to reports.

Newcastle are on the verge of a huge takeover with the £300m deal now in the hands of the Premier League after owner Mike Ashley reached an agreement with a consortium backed by funds from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund - controlled by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The proposed takeover has already faced a challenge from Amnesty International, who wrote to the Premier League urging it to consider Saudi Arabia's human rights record before signing off on the deal.
